MENA Scholarship Program in Holland 2014

Brief Description:

The MENA Scholarship Programme aims to contribute to capacity building within a wide range of governmental, non-governmental and private organisations and institutions in the seven selected countries.

Target Group:

The MENA Scholarships are proportionally distributed among the seven participating countries (Algeria, Iraq, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Syria and Tunisia). Ideally, half of the scholarships are allocated to female applicants.

Number of Awards:

The MENA Scholarship Programme offers around 120 scholarships a year to professionals. The scholarships can be used for selected short courses in the Netherlands. Applications from Syria and Lebanon cannot be considered (temporarily).

Eligibility:

The target group are professionals employed by organisations or institutions operating in one of the following field of studies: Water management, Business administration and management, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Geographical Information Science.

Applicants must be a national of and working in one of the seven countries. The need for applicants’ training must be demonstrated in the context of the organisation they work for.

How to apply:

Applications for the MENA Scholarship Programme should be submitted to the Netherlands Embassy in applicants’ own country before the scholarship application deadline. Explanation on how to apply for a scholarship and how the selection procedure works can be found on this page.

Applicants must complete and sign the MENA Scholarship application form 2013. It can be obtain from the Netherlands Embassy in applicants’ country.

The application form should be accompanied by the following necessary documentation:

  1.   Evidence of proficiency in speaking and writing the language of instruction;
  2.     An employer’s statement (download the requirements below);
  3.     A complete copy of your passport or other official identity document;
  4.     Certified copies of educational records in English or French;
  5.     A detailed curriculum vitae;
  6.     One current photo;
  7.     A copy of birth certificate (if requested by the Embassy).
