Fulbright Scholarship for South African Students 2016/2017 • The Fulbright Foreign Student Program enables graduate students, young professionals, and artists from abroad to research and study in the United States for one year or longer at U.S. universities or other appropriate institutions.
The Fulbright Foreign Student Program offers grants to pursue academic courses, for credit, at post-graduate level, or to engage in research or projects supervised by an approved institution, or to do coursework for non-degree purposes.
The Fulbright program provides funding for up to two years of study. The grant will start 13-15 months after application deadline.

Applications from all fields are accepted; scholarship is available to learn any of the courses offered by the university.
Target Group:
Applicants from South Africa are eligible for the 2016/2017 Fulbright Scholarships.
Eligibility:
- Applicants must be a South African citizen or a permanent resident of South Africa
- For Master’s studies:
Must have completed a Bachelor (Hons) or an equivalent four-year university or technikon (B.Tech) degree - For PhD studies:
Must have a Master’s degree - For non-degree studies:
Must be registered for PhD in South Africa

This year, the committee using the Embark system for electronic application submissions. Applicants must read all instructions carefully. All applicants are required to select a place of interview should they be selected as a finalist requiring an in-person interview.
